I've been having a lot of love-hate body image day

I've been having a lot of love-hate body image days lately. Nothing that has necessarily derailed the progress I've made with my relationships with eating and exercising, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't think, "Maybe I [should] do an extra work out on top of the one I already did" or "Maybe I [should] skip a meal or two..." ⁣
⁣
One of the triggers has been my body flaring up and causing my joints to swell and stiffen. I've been exhausted from lack of sleep I'm getting because of the tenants in my building and college students I'm surrounded by which has left my body in pretty rough shape. During my autoimmune flares, I'm foggy, fatigued, sore, and bloated. When I physically FEEL bad, my mentality shifts and assumes I also look it.⁣
⁣
But today, I'm going to my first massage therapy session to try relaxing and letting go of some of the stress I've been carrying. I'm going to attempt to do this once a month for "me time" to step away from life for a little bit and focus on my body, my mental health, and my physical health. ⁣
⁣
I've written about body dysmorphia and body image problems in my book COLOR ME PRETTY (a father's best friend standalone), but I HAVE started a new book that focuses on body image, eating disorders, and MORE to shed light on how these things impact young minds and the way they grow up seeing themselves. ⁣

Doing new things is HARD for me. Book signings make me sweat. I overthink every little detail leading up to them. But it's also something I look forward to doing, which is why I'm SO pumped to be signing at Music City with the Belles in Nashville at the end of February 2022! ⁣

It'll be my first signing, first time in Tennessee (I've ALWAYS wanted to go to Nashville, so I am so beyond excited), and first time traveling alone to something like this.⁣

LOTS of firsts are coming in 2022. *cue internal freak out*⁣
⁣
I'll be spending my 26th birthday in Boston (I don't think it's officially been announced yet, so more to come 😉), which is a favorite place of mine to go.⁣

And I'll be going BACK to ApollyCon as a signing author in July 2022! I went in 2019 as a reader, even probably spoke to some of you, months before I became B. Celeste. ⁣

FUN FACT 2: The Truth about Heartbreak was already written by then, just not published.

ANNOUNCEMENT BELOW about my upcoming book signing schedule! ⁣

I bought this top along with a lot of other adorable Havana-themed outfits and Orlando-appropriate attire for SHAMELESS BOOK CON in November this year. It was going to be my first time in Florida and my first big signing as B. Celeste.⁣
⁣
Unfortunately, I decided to pull out of the event. I'm bummed about it, but I know it's the right thing to do for me, my health, and my sanity. I've got a LOT going on in the next couple of months, so I decided I wanted to stick close to home, prepare for my big move, and settle into my house when the time comes without stressing about COVID and traveling. ⁣

That being said, I have THREE confirmed book signings in 2022! I'll go more into detail about each when I can, but for now I can tell you that I'll be in NASHVILLE, BOSTON, and WASHINGTON DC in the coming year.⁣
