B. Celeste is a new adult and contemporary romance author that gives voices to raw, realistic characters with emotional storylines that tug on the heartstrings.
She was born and raised in upstate New York where she still resides with her four-legged feline sidekick, Oliver “Ollie” Queen, and her goofy golden retriever Murphy. Her love for reading and writing began at an early age and only grew stronger after getting a BA in English and an MFA in English & creative writing. When she’s not writing, she’s working out, binge-watching reality game shows, having an internal debate on what takeout to order for dinner, and spending time with her friends and family (but mostly her pets).

What makes you like writing this genre?I think there’s something beautiful about raw, real relationships. When there’s controversy or difficulties, there’s more to fight for. It makes the endgame a lot more satisfying knowing you survived the journey to get your happy ever after. I grew up thinking fairytales were real, that love came easily, and when I was old enough to date I found out just how untrue that is. I want to write books about real life things, no matter how much it hurts, because there’s always going to be someone who connects to the characters and finds them relatable.
What was the first book that got you into the genre?
Saffron A. Kent’s The Unrequited is what made me really interested in writing taboo topics like cheating. But I’m always inspired to write when I read good books.
Who is your favorite author of ALL time?
No hesitation, without a doubt, Mariana Zapata. I love her writing style. I love how she builds up her characters and relationships, even if the slow burn kills me. I live for it. That woman could post her grocery list online and I’d read it 50 times over.
